A worldwide computer network

Perhaps one of the most technologically advanced areas of business today is the stock market. Perhaps you have seen television news broadcasts which feature a quick look at the trading floors of various stock markets around the world — did you ever notice that they were filled with bank after bank of computers, and displaying the latest stock prices and a real time stock market history graph? There are approximately 26 million computers in the stock market worldwide — that’s a lot of computing power! In fact, this network of interconnected computers makes the stock market one of the single largest networks of computing devices in the entire world today. Without computers and the Internet the stock market would not be able to exist as we know it.
