Fruit machines are the best thing in the whole world. I spend all day at work thinking about them and how I’d love to be playing on them all the time. Who doesn’t love fruit machines? My favourite ones are the ones with all the bright colours, flashing away and making you feel all dazzly and glamorous. Some fruit machines are downright ugly, though, I think and they shouldn’t even be allowed to get out into the open market. Never mind - at least there’s a huge choice to choose from and you can find one to suit your mood.

I have no idea what is up with girls these days. It feels like I’m in some huge competition to get the last breathing guy. Most girls are really snotty when we go out. I can’t begin to count the number of snarly looks that I’ve gotten while hanging out with my friends. I just want to drill into their heads that I’m just out with my friends and not trying to push up on their boyfriend. Or maybe they are just trying to get an ex back so they want to pick a fight. Who knows? I’m just tired of it all!

Our boss is a bit crazy. She is so random, coming up with large projects out of the blue and changing things constantly. Sometimes she sends out memos for theme days. Last week was Hawaiian Day and we all got to wear Hawaiian shirts and drink cocktails with tiny umbrellas in them at our desks. This week we have Olympics Day and we all have to come dressed and looking like our favorite Olympian. On occasion, she will go on a redecoration kick and change all of the office furniture around while we’re gone for the night. Sometimes, it’s really hard to find my desk in the mornings! This year for Christmas, we couldn’t figure out what to get for her. Traditional gifts just didn’t seem to work. Finally, we figured it out. On Christmas Eve, we presented her with multiple nut gifts… literally. From almonds to pistachios, she got them all. Then we presented her with a large card that simply read, “You’re nuts! But we love you.” She said it was the best Christmas present she’d ever had.

What kind of learner are you?  I’m a visual learner.  If I need to learn how to do something, then it always helps if I can see it done first.  That’s why I like all the learn to play the piano videos found in Rocket Piano.  There are 57 video lessons that will teach you how to play, and for me that’s huge.  Once I see somebody do something, it suddenly makes sense to me.  If you just explain it to me, I sometimes struggle to picture what exactly I’m supposed to be doing.   I’m also a big fan of the two games you get to play when learning how to play the piano called Jayde Musica Pro and Chordinator. 

This Global Warming issue is effecting weather more than ever. The tornadoes, hurricanes, and natural disasters are at an all time high. They are less predictable, more damaging and in areas they have never been before. Cities and towns are not prepared for this type of change. The cities that are used to this type of mother nature activity use steel providers like Mueller Steel buildings that construct buildings that will last through just about anything. Any damage is minimal and easy to repair. They are almost indestructible. These buildings are going to be needed in cities that never thought they would see natural disaster. We must prepare.

My husband and I are planning to travel to Dublin, and we are looking for a hotel in to stay at. We aren’t really familiar with Dublin hotels, so we could use some advice. We want somewhere to stay that is near the city center and not too expensive. A friend stayed at the Harding Hotel Dublin last year and said that it was okay, so unless we can find something we think will be better we will probably stay there as well. Does anyone have any recommendations for good Dublin hotels near that city center? We want to be able to walk to at least some of the tourist attractions.

Dating when you are getting older and the biological clock starts ticking can be hard. I have a friend who starts dating guys, and immediately gives them the 411 on she is not here to play games. I know she is trying to protect herself from getting hurt, but I want to tell her to chill out and enjoy just meeting new people. She broke up with this guy, but then texted him constantly. I am like, you can’t expect to get your ex back on a text message. You can’t tell him one thing, and then give him a completely different signal. That is confusing.

Living in the country we are very vulnerable to power outages. Most of the lines are on poles and when the winter storms set in, they often take down trees which fall on the electrical lines. We do not loose power that much but when we do it can be down for up to a week at a time. Our neighbor has installed a generator for his home but I worry about the exhaust fumes for ours. After reading Earth 4 Energy I am convinced that I can provide power for our home much cheaper than he can with a gas generator.

I do not think it is ever to early to start planning for Christmas especially when you have little ones in the house. This year I am thinking that I would like to get the family a set of matching motorcycle jackets. Although my girls are still way too young to be able to ride with Daddy, I think that all of them would like being able to look alike. My girls are always hounding us to get leather pants, but I think we will start with the jackets and I am sure they will get a lot of use out of them.
