Windows: A Decorating Statement

There once was a time when I considered windows just a way to keep the rain out and the sun in.

But after I bought a house and grew interested in decorating it, I found that there are hundreds of window styles, many of which can completely change the look of a room.

The most dramatic change in my home took place when I redecorated the finished room at the top of the house. In place of the original tiny windows at each end, I had roof windows installed.

Immediately the space was flooded with light and the warm wood of the frames added warmth and elegance.

Experience has taught me that if don’t change anything in a room except its windows, I can still make a very bold decorating statement.
