The choice between electric golf carts and their gas powered brothers is more important when you are buying used golf carts. Just like buying a secondhand car you will need to know how well it has been looked after.

A used gas golf cart has a lot more parts inside the engine and you need to know it has been properly serviced and mainyained whereas an electric golf cart has less to go wrong and needs less maintenance.

The most important thing to check with an electric cart is that the batteries are ok and the engine has not been damaged in any way. Electric motors are very reliable in normal use and should go on working for years with very little attention so, if you get a used electric golf cart it should last you a long time.
