Realism in simulator design
We were given a tour of a navy training command while visiting our son. When I saw how they train pilots it was like they were sitting in one big video game console. The system must have been put together by audio visual system design people. it is made to simulate a cockpit on the airplane. When you look outside it is as if you were actually looking down a runway. All the instruments are in front of and beside you. When you start the plane you can hear the jets beside you. As I moved the throttle forward I could see the runway pass below me just like I was actually flying.
